COMBILIFT TO SHOW OFF AISLE MASTER-OP
STAND H050

WITH the first series of Combilift Aisle Master-OPs now in operation in Australia, Combilift is excited to be showcasing the brand new model at AUSPACK for the first time.
Combilift’s new Aisle Master-OP (AME-OP) is a pioneering stand-on electric powered model that combines the advantages of a narrow aisle artic- ulated forklift and an order picker for versatile operation in warehousing applications.
The development of this model was influenced by customer feedback – as has often been the case with Com- bilift’s innovations – as well as the recent soaring growth of e-commerce.
“Customers already using the Aisle
Master for space saving, storage and efficiency in their warehouse asked if we could redevelop the Aisle Master to meet their ever-growing demand for order picking customised orders,” said Martin McVicar, Combilift CEO.
R&D carried out in 2019-20 has cre- ated the Aisle Master-OP. The main feature of this unit is the step-through operator compartment which has design copyright protection across multiple markets worldwide.
The low floor height of just 280mm enables convenient, single step access from both sides of the truck which speeds up order picking com- pared to the operator having to get on and off from a seated position.

GS1 HIGHLIGHTS THE LATEST IN SMART TECHNOLOGY
www.gs1au.org
GS1 Australia will
have a dual presence at
this year’s AUSPACK
event, co-exhibiting with
Matthews Australasia (stand D140), as
well as being on hand at the Result Group stand (B205) to highlight the latest in 2DBarcode and Digital Link-enabled QR technology. For an understanding of all that is involved in 2DBarcodes by GS1 Australia, the new dimension that is “bringing packaging to life”, head to the stand of intelligent identification systems provider Mat- thews Australia.
Visitors can grab a free coffee and experience a live demo of 2DBarcodes in action to discover the enormous contributions these tiny on-pack codes can achieve for the industry and its customers.
And while you’re in the intelligent packaging frame of mind, head over to technology provider and traceability leader Result Group’s stand to view a live demonstration of GS1 Digital Link- enabled QR codes, which allow the automated collection of data down the supply chain.
This data can then be shared with consumers to authenticate the food’s precise origin and engage with the brand through an open platform smartphone scan. No special apps are necessary, and both business customers and end consumers can gather the data required without the need for any change to devices either smartphone or industrial scanner.
Result and GS1 will show how the Active Digital Identity embedded in the QR code labels ensures each one is unique and traceable – an important innovation in combatting all man- ner of food fraud. The labels carry critical international traceabil- ity data, based on GS1 current standards, covering consumer pack units, cases and pallet codes, as well as time and tempera- ture logging, which is captured through the EVRYTHNG Product Cloud database.
Matthews CEO Mark Dingley said, “While adapting to the future has always been important for Australian manufacturers, and a strong focus for Matthews, the past two years have made it imperative.”
Dingley said the solutions that Matthews will demonstrate also highlight two other learnings from the pandemic: collaboration and technology.
“GS1 Australia will be on our stand, which will be a great opportunity for customers to ask specific questions – in fact any visitors to the show who have questions about Australia’s barcode standards. I expect many people will have questions about 2D barcoding, the advantages, how to implement it and so forth.
“Helping manufacturers get their coding right to help goods move through the supply chain is something we keenly pursue, having just launched a new version of the Barcode Learning Centre on our web- site,” Dingley said.
Among the many technologies Matthews will demonstrate is iDSnet, including dashboard screens, to show how a paperless workflow sys- tem for production lines can be created, while maintaining the signifi- cant cost-saving advantages of iDSnet’s Package Code Management solution. Visitors can also expect to see the latest models, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in coding, labelling and inspection equipment, including Impresstik fully automatic inline labelling, which Matthews has held the agency for since 2003.
“We’ll also have X-Ray solutions, including a Combination Unit, Laser QR Code marking, Mperia carton coding, Linx CIJ, Thermal Trans- fer Overprinting, Label Printer Applicators and barcode scanners.
Matthews’ famous Chameleon Bar will open to visitors for drinks and refreshments from 3:30pm each day.
