BIOGONE PLASTICS, WHY WE NEED THEM
www.biogone.com.au
HAVE you ever wondered if you could make a product from plastic, yet have the plastic item biodegrade when disposed of? Until recent years this was not really thought possible in a practical and economic sense, but Biogone has changed this in Australia.
Biogone is a supplier of every day plastic items that have been made to be biodegradable when disposed to a modern landfill using technology developed in the USA around 2010.
The addition of the small amount of Biogone’s proprietary organic supple- ment to the plastic, at the time of prod- uct production, allows naturally occur- ring microbes in landfills to digest the plastic and break it down into its con- stituents of a biogas and a sludge (humus).
An added benefit of the Biogone technology is that it does not impact the recyclability of the plastic material, fitting nicely into the country’s circular economy ambitions. Biogone plastics are also approved by REDcycle.
Equally important for environmental considerations, Biogone plastics do not have a limited shelf life, and they do not fragment into microplastics over time.

STAND B055
“A plastic made with Biogone tech- nology will perform and look just the same as a conventional plastic. Only when it is disposed to a landfill, will any differences become apparent,” the company said.
“The technology that Biogone employs allows a plastic to biode- grade, it can produce energy to dis- place coal, and is fully recyclable with- out the requirement for any special disposal methods.

IN response to increased customer demand to sleeve trays and pots at higher speeds, Keymac has launched the K101S Sleever, which sits in the range between its exiting K101 (up to 50-60 packs per minute) and KCM range 120 sleeves/minute.

Key features of the machines include: can receive trays back to back; speeds up to 70-75 packs per minute; small footprint of only 1.5m; simple low maintenance design fea- tures; runs all 5-panel
pre-glued sleeves designs; and robust construction.
