HYSTER-YALE LIFTS NEW UX SERIES
Hyster-Yale Asia Pacific is delivering the latest Yale forklift range to the region for clients seeking cost-effective handling solutions for low-hour requirements.
The Yale UX Series is available in a variety of six capacities from 1.5 to 3.5 tonnes, and have been designed for materials handling without the need for advanced functionalities for tasks.
“The new Yale UX Series has been developed for low-hour applications and is priced accordingly,” said Hyster-Yale Asia-Pacific managing director Tony Fagg.
“It’s uncomplicated design results in easy operation and service that eliminate non-core features that add complexity and unnecessary maintenance costs for particular applications.”
“The rationale of this ‘Yale –
Simply Efficient’ range has at its
core the understanding that, if your forklift usage is only around four hours a day, you don’t need a more expensive forklift that has been designed to handle all day, every day applications.”
The Yale UX range is designed to work up to 1,000 hours a year and aims to meet productivity targets while keeping operating costs low.
HOSE GUIDE GETS AUTOMATED
The new Level Wind Hose Guide from technical solutions provider Tecpro Australia can automatically guide a hose without tangling or overfilling on one side as it is retracted.
It is manufactured in stainless steel with a corrosion resistant fabrication and a heavy-duty design to ensure it is suited for a
range of food and beverage and general manufacturing industries.
The Level Wind Hose Guide moves from left to right so the hose lays flat across the hose reel and is powered by the rotation during retraction to evenly distribute the hose across the reel.
The hose solution comes as a kit that can be retro-fitted to any Ramex Spring Retracting Hose Reel, with standard
kits accommodating for 1⁄2 inch and 3⁄4 inch hoses. Tecpro Australia can also provide the Level Wind
House Guide kits for different sized hoses on request.
FINDING BEARINGS FOR
A COMPACT INSTALLATION
Treotham Automation is now supplying the latest slewing ring bearing range from igus, which are wear resistant, low maintenance and designed for compact installations.
The PRT-04 range from igus have sliding elements between the inner and outer bearing rings that use iglidur J plastic, aiming to minimise friction and wear without the use of lubrication and can withstand a maximum surface pressure of 35MPa.
In comparison to its PRT-01 range, igus says the new bearings range can ensure the moving mass is significantly reduced when using a 100mm inner diameter, and the bearings are also ideal for sorting systems, control panels and compact installations with medium loads.
The PRT-04 range is 50 per cent smaller in installation height, 60 per cent lighter and is available with inner diameters of 50 to 300mm.
Treotham has FDA and ESD-compliant versions of the product with no minimum order quantity, and further offer a range of accessories for the slewing ring bearings.

NORD AND SAGE GET SMART IN WAR ON WASTE
NORD Drivesystems has partnered with system integrator SAGE Automation, Nukon, and SA-based independent recycling depot Container Deposit Systems (CDS) to roll out new recycling technology across Queensland.
The semi Auto Return Terminal (ART) installed at recycling sites around Queensland enabled CDS to process 32,000 containers per day in its first week of operation, since increasing to 80,000 per day across five sites.
Consumers can return drink containers for a 10 cent refund, no matter their condition, thanks
to algorithms
programmed into SAGE’s vision system that can identify anything the human eye can.
“We’ve spent a
lot of time making
improvements. In
the past, other
systems relied on
the reading bar
codes and this
created problems
in identifying
products that had
been crushed,
folded or broken.
Thanks to the smart vision system, this is now a thing of the past,” said Paul Johnson, general manager at SAGE.
To help accomplish this, SAGE partnered with NORD Drivesystems, which included an incremental encoder on the motor for positioning. This system is the result of a strong partnership with SAGE, said Vinod Pillai, South Australian sales manager for NORD. “This particular encoder ensures that materials are accurately positioned at the pneumatic blower to execute the operation efficiently. We’ve established a great working relationship with SAGE, and we’ve been flexible and innovative in our approach to their unique automation requirements,” said Pillai.
Johnson says SAGE is satisfied with the over 300 custom-made units installed to client specifications and budget.
