FLUID DATABASE LAUNCHEDIN AUSTRALIA
Bronkhorst High-Tech BV has expanded its database of gas and liquid properties to over 1800 fluids, with AMS Instrumentation &
Calibration bringing the Netherlands brand to Australia.
The fluid database is called Fluidat and is used by Bronkhorst for configuration and accurate calibration of its portfolio of flow
meters and controllers.
It is also available as a free online calculation tool for
Bronkhorst customers, which can be used for a number of purposes, such as determining conversion factors.
Bronkhorst has also introduced the EL-Flow Prestige, a high performance gas flow meter and controller,
equipped with the data of 100 gases from the Fluidat
database. It can calculate real-time gas conversion based on the actual gas properties.
ENMIN FLAT-PACKS CONVEYOR
Melbourne-based materials handling manufacturer Enmin has launched mi-con (Modular Incline Conveyor System), which the company says is the first hygienically designed full wash down system to offer flexibility for customers to select what will suit their specific production needs.
The system is made of stainless steel, with all components and running gear FDA approved and suitable for a full wash environment.
“The key benefit of this modular system is that it eliminates equipment redundancy and expands with the customer’s business. It can be added to, extended and modified as a company’s production needs evolve,” said Enmin general manager Anthony Gallaher.
“We believe that the market potential for the product is huge as it can be utilised by any food and ingredient manufacturing facility,” he said.
The mi-con conveyor can be delivered flat packed in a box, allowing for fast and cost- effective delivery and simple installation, and also can be customised with a range of accessories available for customers to best suit the system for the product they are handling.
ALFA LAVAL RE-ENGINEERS THINKTOP
Alfa Laval has released an updated version if its best-selling valve sensing and control unit, the ThinkTop, incorporating new technological advances to help meet customer needs.
The series – including V50 and V80 models – is more compact and features a new auto setup with an enhanced 360 degree LED visual status indicator, as well as QR code for easy online access to support. It fits on any Alfa Laval valve, making it perfect for all retrofits.
“We have listened carefully to what customers want from a valve sensing and control unit,” said René Stietz, product management valves &
automation, hygienic fluid handling, Alfa Laval.
“The changes we’ve made to the ThinkTop
are highly responsive to customer needs and therefore highly relevant –
for instance, faster and more intuitive setup without compromising durability
and reliability.”
The ThinkTop also includes optimised
valve activations to reduce water consumption during CIP and
aims to save up to 90 per cent in cleaning agent costs.

The Spray Dynamics Slurry-on-Demand Continuous Mixer is designed to optimise efficiency, as well as ensure the quality of the process and finished product.
Its Belt Coater and the Slurry Spray System optimise the efficiency and quality of the process and finished products within the snack foods, prepared meals and confectionery industries.
The Slurry Spray System can spray sugar, syrup, chocolate, oil and emulsions and has been engineered for cereal and snack applications to maximise coverage on products and minimise waste.
The clog-free spray station design prevents nozzle plugging due to an automatic clean-out pin that can be adjusted for up to 25 pulses per minute.
Spray Dynamics’ Belt Coater and the Slurry Spray System have been successfully used in the production of chocolate-coated almonds, chocolate- and yoghurt-coated peanuts, tree nuts, dried
fruit; candy-coated chocolate buttons and candy-coated nuts (sugared almonds). Heat and Control provides a range of
Spray Dynamics solutions to enhance the efficiencies in the snack foods, prepared meals and confectionery industries, with minimal downtime and the right balance of flavour application and adhesion.
