Next-Generation Situational Awareness
Leonardo DRS is the sole-source provider of ruggedized C4I hardware for the U.S. Army. Our technologies give the U.S. Army and international customers the capability to support and operate battle management software, integrate Line of Sight and Beyond Line-of-Sight communications, and incorporate cameras and other sensors all in one Mounted Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS).
The MFoCS is currently in service with the Australian Army’s fleet of M1A1 and M88s and due to be delivered as part of the Heavy Armored Capability Systems (HACS). MFoCS provides Army improved connectivity across the ADF as well as increased U.S., Joint, and Coalition battle management system interoperability on the battlefield.
Our C4I hardware system fulfills the Australian Army’s mission requirements of today and is fundamental
to providing future capabilities like the Health and Usage Management System (HUMS), weapon and sensor integration, and future upgrades to the network architecture.
Mind the Gap
Leonardo DRS is also the primary producer of the next generation of combat assault bridging with the new Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) in use with the U.S. Army and soon to be delivered to the Australian Army.
The JAB provides rapid support to ground forces
with a survivable, deployable and sustainable heavy- assault-bridging capability, that delivers a wet or dry gap-crossing capability to enable freedom of maneuver on the battlefield. Comprising an M1A1 Abrams tank hull with heavy (M1A2) suspension, the integrated hydraulic bridge launcher system can rapidly deploy and retrieve the existing Military Load Class 85 Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge. The JAB improves force readiness, survivability, mobility and agility equal to the legacy force.
