2022:
The year that
was in packaging
2022 was another eventful year for the packaging sector, with in-person events back on the calendar, major deals signed, new appointments made, innovations launched, and sustainability and circularity yet again taking centre stage.
IN A BREAK from the Headline Makers’ style from previous years, and in a nod to the growing importance of our digital plat-
forms, the PKN team has provided a mix of print and online stories, with the top 12 clicks on our website listed for the corre- sponding bi-monthly period.
Not surprisingly, the major packag- ing companies feature strongly, with the likes of Visy, Pact, Orora, and Amcor flex- ing their investment muscle to develop recycling infrastructure and materials
innovation to advance the circular econ- omy. New players like Close the Loop Group are also making their mark, while brand owners making sustainable packag- ing changes, including Cadbury, Nestle, Mars, and Arnott’s to name a few, also attracted PKN readers’ attention.
The PKN team hopes you enjoy this round-up of the year’s top newsmakers, and we encourage you to head to packag- ingnews.com.au for more news stories that could not fit on these pages.
