       Tools for consulting engineers
HOLYOAKE BY PRICE launched new educational resources and tools at an event for Queensland’s HVAC consulting engineers.
Earlier this year Price Industries ac- quired an interest in Holyoake Air Manage- ment Solutions to create Holyoake by Price, a new HVAC powerhouse.
The Price Learning Portal (PLP) offers online, self-guided courses and learning re- sources for those looking to broaden their HVAC expertise. This platform is accessible 24 hours a day and users can learn at their own pace.
Attendees participated in a 360° virtual tour of the Price Research Centre North which showcases the latest in HVAC tech- nologies featured throughout PRCN, where Price systems and solutions are tested and developed.
The portal features engineering webi- nars, to earn credits. Attendees watched a pre-recorded session from the archives.
Engineers looking for specific training can click the QR code to register for the PLP.
Holyoake by Price state manager for Queensland, Vance Rowe, presents the Price Engineers Handbook to Shane Coluohoun.

redesign for
water series
ENGIE REFRIGERATION HAS redesigned its water-cooled QUANTUM Water series.
It is currently the most efficient water-cooled chiller on the market, according to ENGIE.
ENGIE Refrigeration now offers the water- cooled series in a total of 47 versions with a per- formance range from 200 kilowatts to four megawatts.
ENGIE CEO, Jochen Hornung, said the com- pany has always aimed to offer customers the highest-quality, most efficient and most sustain- able chillers.
“With the QUANTUM Water series we have once again achieved this goal; our models cur- rently represent the most efficient water cooled chiller series in the world,” he said.
“To achieve this, the team relied on new com- ponents and an innovative control concept. They also deployed ultramodern inner tube technolo- gy, which ensures an excellent heat transfer per- formance and an especially high level of efficien- cy with a low input of materials.”
In addition, Hornung said the QUANTUM Water series is currently the only model series on the market with an open-flash economiser inte- grated as standard in all 47 versions.
He said QUANTUM Water offers ground- breaking digital features and customers can now choose between four different refrigerants – R-515B, R-134a, R-513A and R-1234ze.
Hornung said QUANTUM Power will remain available as a customer-specific solution for even higher performance ranges up to 8.5 megawatts. As its next step, ENGIE Refrigeration will also overhaul its SPECTRUM chillers and heat pumps.

Control system updated
ABB HAS LAUNCHED the latest version of its distrib- uted control system, ABB Ability System 800xA 6.1.1, of- fering increased I/O capabilities, the agility of commis- sioning and enhanced security as a foundation for digital transformation.
ABB Ability System 800xA 6.1.1 represents an evolu- tion for automated control and plant operations of to- morrow, consolidating the technology pioneer’s number one leadership position in the DCS market. By increas- ing industry collaboration, the latest version of ABB’s flagship DCS enables decision makers to future proof their plants, making it an easy call to make.
The System 800xA 6.1.1 enhances collaboration via a number of new features including simplified, faster commissioning of greenfield projects and brownfield ex- pansions with a new and improved Ethernet I/O Field Kit, now with xStream Commissioning.
This allows users to configure and test I/O in the field without the need for the control application software or process controller hardware, all from a single laptop.
Faster and more cost-efficient project execution is made possible thanks to the inclusion of Select I/O en- hancements in the new version.
Agility and collaboration are increased even further with the new version opening the door to Modular Or- chestration.
