Daikin’s global takeover: Products for every segment of HVACR market
AFTER VISITING THE Daikin Australia stand at ARBS 2022, it is easy to believe that the air conditioning manufacturer is preparing to take over the world.
The broad range of products on display at the Daikin stand made it clear the manufacturer has products to meet every segment of the heat- ing and cooling market.
To accommodate its latest range of residen- tial, commercial and applied products and solu- tions, Daikin had its biggest presence ever at ARBS with a stand spanning 216m2.
This year it wasn’t just about heating and cooling for Daikin, the manufacturer has moved into the refrigeration market and ARBS was an opportunity to showcase its new products.
Daikin launched a range of commercial refrigeration condensing units and introduced a new strategic business unit to support its new product portfolio. The condensing units are manufactured by J & E Hall, a worldwide mem- ber of the Daikin Group and one of the world’s foremost refrigeration solution providers.
Combining design innovation and energy
efficiency technology, the new condensing units have a number of new and improved features and functions. Microchannel heat exchanger (selected models) technology reduces refriger- ant volume in the system in a more efficient way than traditional fin and tube heat exchangers, to provide savings on installation costs.
“DAIKIN’S NEW RANGE OF LOW TEMPERATURE EQUIPMENT RUNNING ON R290 WILL BE AVAILABLE LATER THIS YEAR.”
A new adjustable fan speed and pressure switch (selected models) provides added flexi- bility to deliver optimal operation for the chosen refrigerant. Better energy efficiency and the top quality components enable improved reliability and longevity. Low fan speeds and the acousti- cally lined condensing unit casing will ensure
quiet operation. These condensing units offer a smaller footprint unit taking up less space, a better solution for noise sensitive projects, whilst reducing energy costs.
Installation and maintenance is simple and easy. The condensing units are compatible with a broad range of existing refrigerants including R404a and R407C.
Access to major components is available through the front and side via hinged doors for trouble-free maintenance. The condensing unit casing is powder coated to enhance resistance to corrosion, offering longer term reliability.
Also on display was the AHT plug-in freezer case. This range of low-temperature equip- ment, running on R290 refrigerant, incorpo- rate sliding glass doors and inverter compressors. The range is expected to be released later in the year.
Commenting on the company’s move into the cold chain, Daikin Australia general manager for marketing & ecommerce, Dan Tosh, said customer needs and values have changed.
“For example, market needs have expanded
