The year began with our investiga- tion into the comeback of the Australian ad industry. We asked the brilliantly creative minds at Engine Group to devise the cover. They were inspired by the headline: “A renaissance for Australian advertis- ing” and turned Michelangelo’s renaissance sculpture David into Australian actor Paul Hogan (Hoges).
March-April
The centre of AdNews’ March-April edition was experiential marketing. The industry enjoyed a boom before COVID-19. The team at Howatson+White (now Howatson+Company) was inspired by cheese samples at local super- markets to convey physical experi- ences that can never be replicated by the virtual.
