     Kodak Prosper: Digital printing
Kodak showing digital,
offset, software at PacPrint
Kodak is featuring its portfolio of digital, offset, and software solutions at PacPrint, presenting what it says
are innovative prepress and digital print solutions “enabling printers to thrive in a changing market environment”.
Kodak will be in booth G22. It
will show the Kodak Sonora Xtra, its “next-generation” process free offset plate, which it says delivers a stronger image contrast, faster CTP imaging speeds and improved handling robustness, plus sustainability and waste savings in prepress and on press. Some 5,000 printers all over the world are already using Sonora Process Free Plates.
Kodak says it is ideally positioned to provide any printer with a customised, fully automated digital plate making solution. Kodak’s one-stop offering includes CTP platesetters for all plate size categories and productivity requirements, automation, software, and plates as well as service and support.
Kodak will also provide information about its high-speed inkjet presses, including the Prosper 6000 Press Platform, which it says provides dependable high print quality and a productivity of up to

S-Series and Prosper Plus Imprinting Systems will be shown at the
booth. Kodak says its continuous inkjet technology “combines high printing speeds and superior quality with cost-effective output”, using water-based Kodak nanoparticulate pigment inks.
The Kodak team will also demonstrate the Prinergy Workflow software, prepress automation software which it says enables printers to increase productivity, cut turnaround times and reduce costs. Kodak says with automation, support for offset, flexo, digital and gravure production, compatibility with virtually all third-party software and equipment, and connectivity with the broadest range of digital presses, Prinergy Workflow is for printing companies of any size.
“We look forward to finally meeting customers and prospects in person again at this event,” said Simon Gan, vice president sales, Asia-Pacific Region, Kodak. “At PacPrint, we will highlight that Kodak provides the most comprehensive portfolio of innovative digital, offset and software solutions designed to deliver print that pays.” 21
Kurz makes label security more sustainable
Print decoration and brand security provider Kurz will have a full range of products
on show at PacPrint. Its ongoing quest to develop future-proof solutions that reduce C02 has led to its latest launch, five new Eco Label variants in the TrustConcept brand security portfolio.
The new Eco Labels for brand security protects products against counterfeiting with the Kurz tried-and-tested Trustseal Protect thin-film technology.
The Kurz Premium Eco Label is a wood- free, yet paper-like label, which has a high-quality, durable, matte-gloss surface with a soft-touch feel, 80 per cent of which is made of a waste product from marble decomposition.
The rPP Eco Label, a white plastic
label, which is largely made from recycled packaging film, is visually similar to conventional standard polypropylene labels with comparable product properties.
The wbPP Eco Label is positioned as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic labels. Close to being a wood-based plastic label, the transparent outer material used here is made with residues from pulp production.
For the light Eco Paper Label, the use of materials has been reduced to the necessary minimum weight, significantly improving the ecological footprint, according to the company, which says “the primary energy requirement, freshwater consumption, and the emission of climate-damaging CO2 can be demonstrably reduced here”.
This also applies to the PCR Eco Paper Label, which is made up of 99 per cent post- consumer recycled fibres, “without losing any of its brilliance”. 21
