Trimatt 1170 - exceeding expectation for SME
Matt Johnson, CEO at Trimatt, is a firm advocate of the 1170 in its uses for short runs for packaging solutions, and will be showcasing the Trimatt 1170 at PacPrint, stand C30. He says, “This revolutionary digital printer is perfect for SMEs looking to offer greater solutions to their clients for bags, boxes, trays and even handled bags.”
When Hayden from Rush Coffee, a New Zealand coffee supplier, was looking
to refine its operations and transition into in-house digital printing of their coffee bags, he called Matt Johnson from Trimatt.
Rush Coffee was aiming to print directly onto its coffee bags for varied products, at precise quantities, on demand to streamline their processes, eliminate over production and storage costs. The solution needed to be compact and user friendly. Johnson confidently
put forward the 1170 as the “perfect solution” for the company.
Rush Coffee needed a cost-effective solution and wanted a professional finish on paper using waterproof/light fast
ink. Design features of the Trimatt 1170 include a 297 mm wide print swath with speeds up to 27m/min, a HP FI-1000 print engine using an aqueous pigmented ink which makes crisp, vibrant prints that are both waterproof and light fast. Put simply, there was no aspect of the Trimatt 1170 not exceeded in the brief.
The 1170 was the all-rounder solution for Rush Coffee, and was consequently purchased and upgraded to include an integrated friction feeder, adjustable receiving tray and vacuum conveyor to optimise production.
The Trimatt 1170 Digital Printer turned out to be a cost saving solution for Rush Coffee who previously outsourced its bag printing, and now uses the product every day as the business has grown. 21
