      Cross media integration
A starting point is XMPie’s Variable Data Print solution, uDirect, for automating the production of personalised print campaigns. With uDirect businesses of all sizes can create and produce graphically rich documents, individualised to each recipient, using a single “easy-to-use” desktop VDP solution.
XMPie has introduced a novel breakthrough approach for integrating digital media in cross media communications. With Open XM technology marketers now
have the freedom to fully leverage web, email, and mobile media technologies, while still ensuring that all personalised touch-points in the communications stream – print and digital – “are synchronised perfectly”.
The XMPie platform comes with the tools you need to make the switch to providing 360° marketing services. Variable data jobs will drive the high value, high volume print; Web-to-print will deliver more print to the business; and with omnichannel capabilities, you can extend out the services that you offer by providing digital marketing services as well.
XMPie’s open architecture and
APIs allow flexible integration with other internal systems or third-party applications. XMPie staff will be on the booth to share with PacPrint visitors how print businesses can leverage
the technology, to become integrated marketing services providers. 21

It has seen that most XMPie customers begin their XMPie journey with a particular focal point, and build out their business by adding more features and services later; you don’t have to start big.
Velflex to mark 15 years of innovation at PacPrint
Heat transfer specialist Velflex is marking its 15th anniversary this year, and is taking the opportunity at PacPrint to celebrate what has been a continuous growth story, based on its innovative approach.
Founded in 2007, Velflex was banking on the rise of digital printing in heat transfer, and as a result helped to bring new technologies to the Australian market that are now commonplace. The company says its range of Stahls and Plotterfilms heat transfer vinyls, Australian-made UltraColour transfers, Hotronix
heat presses, and Mimaki print
and cut machines, are the go-to solutions for quality garment customisation.
At PacPrint the company will be doing live demonstrations, showing “how easy start to finish
transfer production can be” using its vinyl range, UltraColour transfers, heat presses, and the new Mimaki CG-AR Series cutter. Its range of heat presses includes Hotronix STX, Hotronix Dual Fusion and Hotronix 360 IQ.
The company says it aims to stay at the forefront of heat
transfer technology, with the introduction of direct-
to-film consumables to its range. It says,
“The
hottest thing in garment decoration right now is DTF”, and says after extensive trialling it is “excited to be launching the Velflex DTF range at PacPrint”, which includes hot peel sheets and adhesive powders.
Many may be surprised to learn that to set up in garment printing and decoration requires little more than a commercial heat press, an eco-solvent printer from the likes of Roland DG, Mimaki or Mutoh, along with a cutter, and the all-important knowledge support. Managing director
of Vleflex Ben Carroll says that it can
be less than $20,000 for the whole kit
and kaboodle.
Visitors to PacPrint can see them all in action on C20, and are invited
to celebrate the past, present and future of Velflex. 21
