Avon Graphics
launches eco
embellishment brand
National hot foil stamping and embossing business Avon Graphics has created ecoembellish, its new recyclable brand covering its sustainable products.
THE CREATION OF ecoembellish will enable Avon Graphics’ custom- ers to understand what can be recycled, and to guarantee the use of recyclable embellished products. Tate Hone, managing director, says, “It was a necessary progression, as more cus- tomers are now demanding sustainable products. The launch of ecoembellish will provide the clarity they need.”
Avon Graphics’ hot foil stamping, embossing, UV coating products, and its Alumma raised foil, will fall under the brand, and will carry the ecoembel- lish logo to certify their recyclability.

Hone has big plans for the brand, with new products to be added in the future. He says, “The new ecoembellish brand will build confidence for Avon’s customers, giving them peace of mind that their products will stand out on shelf, while reducing the environmen- tal impact.”
All products in the ecoembellish range can be placed in the paper recy- cling bin and are kerbside recyclable.
Avon Graphics is a specialist embel- lishment company and print trade supplier with operations located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. ■
Yes You Can creates advent calendar
Yes You Can Drinks founder and ex-Olympian, Tyler Martin talks to PKN about the can-inspired advent calendar he created for the non-alcoholic classics drink range.
MADE FROM E-FLUTE and B-flute, and printed with environmentally- friendly EcoPure HPJ soy inks, the vibrantly coloured advent-style calendar presents as a huge can, and features 32 can-sized slots at the base with inspiring messages on each side.
“I came up with the idea to bring something unique through Dry July, and at the same time, include a clever way to soft launch our new Native Australian product range,” said Martin,
As an Olympian, he was faced with gruelling schedules and early starts, and wasn't keen on the hangovers experienced after hanging out. A few years later, his partner Sophie Heatley
encountered a similar problem when pregnant with their son Teddy, and together they founded the company Yes You Can.
Martin says that the concept for the advent calendar started while on a flight, when he began sketching up con- cepts on paper. He then spoke to several designers to see how the sketches

could be brought to life. “We mocked up a version using simple cardboard in our warehouse, provided the specs on width, depth and height, and tried to figure out how we would pack 31 cans in – until we decided we would do an 8 x 4 format and threw in the extra can.”
To ensure that the box represented a can, Martin says the lid and base had to be created from scratch, as the pair weren’t able to find a suitable prototype.
The main body of the advent calendar is made from B-flute, while E-flute was used for the grid.
It was printed offshore, using EcoPure HPJ premium quality, environmen- tally-friendly quickset inks formulated with high percentages of soy and other vegetable oils.
Yes You Can Drinks are filled in cans made of recycled aluminium compound. Its 4-pack wraps are made with recycled fibre and are recyclable, while the 24-pack car- ton is comprised of predominantly recycled board. ■
