     Clockwise from above:
Anthony Hoffrichter, Jewellery Box, black walnut, olive ash burl, snakewood. A spring-loaded side drawer is accessible by pushing a button inside the top.
Wayne Quick, Art Deco Styled Chess Board, silver ash and rare 10,000 year old red bloodwood. Wall mounts when not in use. ‘The box is joined with the impossible dovetail join, accentuated with black veneer. The design on the front is also subtly inlayed into the chess board side by changing the direction of the grain.’
Martin Burgoyne, Earth Treasure, birch and cherry veneer, jarrah, pau shell and mother-of-pearl. ‘A flip-top box, or is it a chest of drawers in Japanese kogei style? Kogei is a uniquely Japanese term which describes items that are intrinsically ‘beautiful things’, well beyond their utility value. The lockable, hinged, flip-up end opens onto a series of trays and containers.’
Ken Fisher, Memory Box for Kodie, rosewood, claret ash, blackwood, cedar, woollybutt, Japanese wooden nails. ‘This is my fourth memory box project for our grandchildren.’
