Innovation for a changing environment: Rob Mollee, Kodak
Kodak features full portfolio
Kodak featured its full portfolio of digital, offset and software solutions ,
presenting innovative pre-press and digital print solutions “enabling printers to thrive in a changing market environment”.
Kodak showed the Sonora Xtra, its “next-generation” process-free offset plate, which it says delivers a stronger image contrast, faster CTP imaging speeds, and improved handling robustness.
Kodak was also providing information about its new high-speed inkjet Prosper 7000 Turbo, which it says
is the world’s fastest inkjet press, capable of pumping out a million A4 pages every three hours at 410 metres a minute.
It was also demonstrating the Prinergy Workflow pre-press automation software system, now available as cloud-based,
or as a managed service from Kodak. 21

Offset press giant manroland Goss was focused on its growing
consumables range at the show, taking the opportunity to reconnect in person after Covid.
The company was reminding the industry it is more than heavy metal, with its range
of engineering lubricants, chemistry and other press consumables – in particular lubricants from its partner Elkalub – aimed at all offset presses, taking centre stage. 21
Smartech shows growth solutions
Smartech had a booth brimming with new technology, which is says
were showcasing ways new and existing clients can capitalise on emerging markets that are showing significant growth.
Included on the stand was the Duplo card cutter – both the DC-618 and DC-648, the fourth generation digital card finisher, and the Komfi Amiga 52 double-sided laminator, as well as the Neolam-380 automatic laminator. 21
