Special Group took home the
Innovative Use of Media Award
for its Australian Open Ambush campaign developed for Uber Eats. The campaign, which used professional tennis players, such as Rafael Nadal, appearing to order Uber Eats mid-game, gener- ated social media buzz. A fol- low-up campaign for the food-de- livery service, Tonight, Kim & Shaz Will Be Eating, saw it take home the Best Use of Content award. Tonight, Kim & Shaz enlisted US celebrity Kim Kardashian alongside fictional Australia icon Sharon Strzelecki.
According to Special Group, the campaign earned 50 million media impressions, 20 million organic viewers online and 90,000 shares on social. Finally, the agency, in collaboration with Special Group New Zealand, also took home Ad Campaign of the Year for its Good Morning World campaign for Tourism New Zealand.
