Currie Group wins global HP accolade
Local HP Indigo supplier Currie Group has taken out the global HP Channel Partner of the Year award, recognising its combined performance across both labels & packaging, and commercial print. Wayne Robinson reports.
THE annual HP Industrial Graphics Partner Awards acknowledge and celebrate the success of HP’s partners around the globe, with Currie Group proclaimed the 2021 Worldwide Channel Partner of the Year.
Currie Group delivered a record high year in sales, despite its head office in Melbourne being in lockdown for 262 days since lockdown began. Among its installs, Currie Group sold two HP Indigo 100K presses, having installed the first with online training
and remote support only.
The judges noted the performance
is underpinned by Currie Group’s “excellent installed-base manage- ment, managing older presses and upgrading presses where required with their customers”.
Craig Walmsley, HP Industrial country manager Australia & New Zealand, said, “Currie Group’s

The company says the C500 offers an improved operational efficiency and a resilient supply chain, over- coming pandemic uncertainties and delays. Designed for producing high quality print in demanding produc- tion environments, the press prints at 75 linear metres a minute in top print quality, with 1200 lpi resolution using one million nozzles.
With its water-based ink technology,
not just about using recycled mate- rials, we look at each process and material to determine if there are more eco-friendly ways to improve.”
Italiya’s green roadmap also includes the installation of 900KW solar panels and 500KW batteries, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. Combined with its plas- tic-free alternatives and water-based adhesives, Italiya says it is poised to become a leader in digital sustain- able print, raising the bar of the print industry in Australia. ■
