COCA-COLA AMATIL CRACKS FIZZY RECYCLABLES Coca-Cola Amatil produced Australia’s first carbonated soft drink bottles from 100 per cent recycled plastic.
By the end of
2019, Amatil aims
to have all
single-serve plastic bottles in Australia switched to the new fully recycled materials.
Amatil group managing director Alison Watkins said the switch to 100 per cent recycled materials for carbonated beverages is an Australian first and a credit to the technical team.
“We think every beverage container should be recycled and live again, not become waste in our marine and land environment,” Watkins said.
GLASS COLLABORATION DELIVERS MILLIE
A collaboration between glass container manufacturer O-I Glass, the Australian Beverage Council, brand agency Voice, and Monash University created Millie, a new glass beverage
packaging solution. Millie is a 250ml glass
bottle designed to contain exactly two servings of fruit in the form of a no sugar added fruit juice.
It is designed for consumers conscious of the
daily 5 + 2-a-day Australian Dietary Guidelines for vegetable and fruit intake. Beverage and snack company Emma & Tom’s signed on to use the bottle for a new premium juice range aimed at the export market.
