“As an aerospace engineer by training, I have always believed that engineering is fundamentally a creative en- deavour – where we have the opportunity to create new solutions to some of the biggest challenges we face.
“Harnessing the power of research and development, to innovate and adapt is an exciting part of a career in engineering. Finding ways to keep things working, or to overcome black swan events, is something that is clearly requiring greater collaboration, greater flexibility and an increased risk appetite.
“Listening to each of our finalists – it is clear that we have an incredible cohort of women working across De- fence and Industry, where insight, collaboration, adapt- ability, passion, commitment and resilience have come through time and time again as the key traits that are enabling these women to make significant contributions.
“Now, as a Victorian who hasn’t been able to travel for
