“I’ve learned that I get so much of my energy and drive from the people I work with. Whilst we have all adapted well during COVID to working in a far more isolated and virtual fashion – often enabled by the technologies many of us work on, seeing the level of commitment and engagement maintained during this time has been inspiring.
“But it’s just not the same – I cannot wait to return to a more collaborative and personal level of engagement as we emerge from lockdown and border restrictions are eased, so we can really bring out the best in one another,” Holt said.
“A huge congratulations to all the women and their allies involved in this program to date,” Ziesing said. “As a judge myself, I adore reading all the applications that come through. They are inspiring, heart-warming and sometimes even heartbreaking in some cases. There are differences with many of the journeys but the common themes of perseverance, the importance of community and backing yourself are testament to the brilliance of these finalists.
