SUPACAT SELECTS SIEMENS SOFTWARE FOR LAND 400
Force to standardise their digital jour- ney and product lifecycle management. “Implementation of this system allows us to integrate more closely with the Rheinmetall Land 400 team and that lowers the barriers to the Australian sup- ply chain entering the program,” Michael Halloran, Managing Director Asia Pacif-
ic for Supacat, said.
Supacat will use NX to model and
analyse products in 3D in a process that is integrated into the Teamcenter PLM system. Teamcenter will allow Supacat to manage all engineering design workflow and approval processes, data and sup- porting documentation in an integrated single source.
Samantha Murray, Managing Director of Siemens Digital Industries Software in the region, said that the implementation was a key step for the Australian defence industry.
“It’s great to collaborate with local Australian companies like Supacat doing innovative work that helps them connect to global supply chains,” Murray said. “We’re also excited about helping upskill their staff on world-leading technology.”

tunities ahead for Australian businesses”. On 26 March 2021, the Innovaero team hosted a visit by WA Defence Ad- vocate Rear Admiral (Rtd) Raydon Gates AO CSM, who offered high praise for the new facilities and Innovaero personnel, particularly acknowledging their exper-
tise across all the airborne assets. InnovaeroFOX now continues with the next phase of development and refine- ment with full scale hover tests currently underway in the lead-up to the official launch at the Avalon Airshow between 30
November and 5 December 2021.
SUPACAT has selected Siemens software to boost their engagement with Rhein- metall on the Land 400 program.
The use of design lifecycle manage- ment and supply chain integration capa- bilities of Siemens’ Teamcenter software and NX software for computer-aided design (CAD) will reportedly help Su- pacat align their engineering processes
with Rheinmetall, strengthen data gov- ernance and improve overall efficiency. The implementation has been funded by the Federal Government’s Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grant giv-
en to Supacat last year.

of Siemens’ Xcelerator portfolio was also recently chosen by the US Air
AUS SME INNOVAEROFOX UAS COMPLETES CRITICAL FLIGHT TESTS
INNOVAEROFOX has advanced to the next stage of its test flight program — success- fully completing a series of challenging flight tests on schedule.
The 100 per cent Australian-made Mar- itime Unmanned Aerial System (MUAS) InnovaeroFOX has faced a series of tests at 40 per cent scale involving the execution of short, controlled circuits at varying speeds and airframe configuration settings. This follows previous hover tests of the 30 per cent scale Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) system in November 2020.
The latest series of flight tests — part of an ongoing, comprehensive program in the lead up to trials at full-scale of the eight-metre wingspan InnovaeroFOX — have provided valuable data for the vehicle’s operating envelope. Full-scale
testing of FOX FTA-1 (VTOL) and FOX FTA-2 (Conventional Take-off and Land- ing) platforms will occur later this year.
The ongoing success of InnovaeroFOX trials is the culmination of more than two years of privately funded R&D and inno- vation. InnovaeroFOX was conceived in response to Defence’s Maritime UAS Con- tinuous Development program, which aims to deliver enhanced situational awareness through the acquisition of maritime un- manned intelligence, surveillance, recon- naissance and targeting aircraft systems.
Minister for Defence Industry Me- lissa Price officially opened Innovaero’s new modern manufacturing premises in Kardinya, WA on 16 November 2020 stat- ing that Innovaero’s premises demonstrat- ed that “there are unprecedented oppor-
