trade show for our industry, and we’ve had some fantastic leads,” said Peter Gustafson, MD at Australis Engineering.
“It is very exciting, this is our first AUSPACK as Opal, and it provides a promotional platform for us to show- case Opal’s comprehensive range of packaging solutions,” said Paul Haggett, national sales manager, POS and Digital at Opal Speciality Australia.
“There is nothing like experienc- ing the face-to-face contact here that we’ve been missing for the last two years... So many key people from particularly the food and beverage
industry have come to AUSPACK and we’ve seen all our major clients, and there’s been a lot of new opportunities, with new people visiting our stand too. That’s really why we are here,” said Peter Bradbury, channel manager, Robotics at ABB.
“The show has provided a good platform to re-engage with the wider packaging community and exhibitor/ colleagues,” said Gordon Wood, GM, Barry-Wehmiller Australia, confirm- ing that he first attended AUSPACK in 1993 and that this year’s show marks his 15th attendance.
“This is one of the industry’s major shows and it’s good to get back to
ABOVE: For the packaging and processing community, there was much to see and learn.
‘show fitness’. Three years on, and well overdue. Bring it on!” said Paul Baggio, CEO, Della Toffola Pacific, on the FB Propak stand.
“We’re pleased to announce our new partnership with JL Lennard,” said Alessandro Rocca, group sales direc- tor for Cama Group who had flown in from Italy to visit AUSPACK and make the announcement with JL Lennard’s GM Packaging, Tony Dinallo.
As is customary at AUSPACK, deals were struck, machines were sold, and anniversaries were highlighted, with Foodmach and Lantech celebrating 50 years, and tna solutions marking its 40-year milestone. ■
MEDIA BLITZ AT APPMA’S FLAGSHIP SHOW
IN a media first for the packaging industry, Yaffa Media brought the popular PKN Podcast to the show floor, with an interesting blend of visitors and exhibitors joining the AUSPACK FILES conversation over the four days.
The PKN Podcast’s studio manager Grant McHerron, as well as PKN crew, hosted live conversations on the PKN
stand, where short soundbites of news on innovations from the show floor, and special announcements, (which totalled 42 podcasts and 50 guests), were streamed live and broadcast during the show.
The team also walked the halls with PKN’s videographer, to film some 30 videos which were broadcast in daily newsletters and can be viewed on PKN YouTube.
