AEROPM has been named Champion Professional Services at the Austra- lian Small Business Champion Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony held on 27th February at the ICC Sydney, with around 1,000 guests in attendance.
Recognised as the ‘Oscars’ for small business, the Australian Small Busi- ness Champion Awards is the only na- tional recognition program for Austra- lian small businesses.
AeroPM was founded in 2014 by Emily Frizell, after she had served 16 years in the RAAF. She was joined by her husband Adam Frizell in 2018 after he served 22 years in the RAAF when AeroPM gained placement on the Defence Support Services Panel.
In 2020, AeroPM onboarded its 60th employee and it currently main-
tains a veteran employment rate of over 80 per cent.

MILSPEC MANUFACTURING WINS LYNX EXPORT CONTRACT
ALBURY-BASED Milspec Manufactur- ing has announced a contract with Rheinmetall Group for the manu- facture of advanced alternators for a fleet of Lynx KF41 Infantry Fighting Vehicles ordered by an international customer.
Privately owned Milspec has se- cured the $5.58 million contract after significant investment in research and development at its Albury facilities and six years of collaboration, testing and development alongside Rheinmetall teams in Germany and Australia.
Milspec Manufacturing General Manager Neil Morrison said the con- tract underscored the company’s sta- tus as a world-leading manufacturer of specialised vehicle products.
“We are delighted to announce this contract with Rheinmetall for an in- ternational customer and note that this has been eight years in the mak-
ing – from concept through to agree- ment,” Morrison said.
Milspec developed the 900A alter- nator because of limitations in exist- ing products and the need for better technology for military vehicles.
“This particular alternator is the result of accumulated experience and expertise developed over 30 years of alternator development,” Morrison said. “It meets and exceeds required
military standards, is compact and reliable and designed for the harshest environments from sub-zero tempera- tures to desert climates.”
Milspec was awarded a contract in 2015 to deliver the 900 A alternator for the Lynx prototype and last year Rhe- inmetall ordered additional alterna- tors for each of the three Lynx vehicles competing in the Land 400 Phase 3 Risk Mitigation Activity now underway.
Rheinmetall Defence Australia Managing Director Gary Stewart congratulated Milspec on transforming its business. ■
