JET LAUNCHES NEW ALUMINIUM BRAND ALUJET IN AUSTRALIA
Jet Technologies has launched a new in-house aluminium brand – AluJet – which it says offers a diverse range of quality aluminium sheets and coils to the Australian market.
According to Jet Technologies, the AluJet range – launched in collaboration with its partner of 20 years, Hindalco – features a range of aluminium solutions “of the highest quality and reliability”, including painted and embossed aluminium materials. The company says the range offers a diversity of applications including architectural products; marine; transport; roofing; general engineering and fabrication; and insulation.
Jet Technologies’ AluJet brand will be driven by business development manager Brad Foster (pictured right), providing local service, stock and immediate despatch across Australia.
Foster said: “We are excited to be launching the AluJet brand in Australia as part of the wider Jet Technologies business. We have a long history of providing the latest innovations to the manufacturing industry, and with a number of leading Australian and multinational clients, we are proud to be expanding our aluminium offering.”
RESULT GROUP JOINS RAVENWOOD IN LINERLESS Result Group has joined Ravenwood’s global distributor network for driving linerless in this region. Result has invested in a Ravenwood linerless demo sleever.
Result Group purchased a Nobac 5000 linerless applicator as part of its demonstration and testing fleet. The Nobac range is designed for maximum flexibility when applying Ravenwood linerless labels to many food types and pack specifications. In addition to sleeving fixed-weight products, these machines can link to weigh-scales from a range of manufacturers for variable-weight products, as well as check weighing. Speeds up to 125ppm are achievable.
Result Group general manager Michael Dossor said the partnership with Ravenwood allows the company to deliver the best linerless technology, support packaging minimisation initiatives, and contribute towards delivering sustainability targets for landfill reduction.
“Linerless labels are making headway in Australia as more brands move towards sustainable packaging so they can reach the sustainability goals mandated in Australia, especially the 2025 National Packaging Targets,” Dossor said.
A statement from Result Group said increasing concerns about liner waste generated and the banning of Australian export waste have led to linerless labels earning considerable kudos in the Australian packaging and labelling industry. Linerless offers a full spectrum of benefits associated with sustainable labelling practices.
KALLFASS AND HERMA LAUNCH CHOCOLATE WRAP SEAL
Film packaging machine specialist Kallfass has joined forces with Herma Labelling Machines (represented in Australia by Result Group) to develop an innovative solution for an international producer of premium chocolates.
The new Herma 652C uses thin film wrapper, with what the maker says are practically invisible seams and a sealing label with tab to wrap and seal up to 250 items per minute.
The Herma labelling machine 652C was selected for this project to take care of the downstream precision top and bottom labelling of the candy boxes. The sealing label is generally applied to the bottom, and promotional labels are typically applied to the top. Depending on the
customer’s requirements, the two functions can be performed independently.
Thanks to innovative quick-change systems and touchscreens, the two integrated Herma 500 labellers facilitate rapid job setup.
A hot-foil printer can easily be integrated for printing variable data, such as a best-before date, on the sealing label.
Designed to process as many as 250 products a minute, the machine also offers sufficient reserve capacity.
In other news from Herma, the self-adhesive solutions specialist has committed to a carbon- neutral footprint within its sphere of direct influence from 2021.
