Wide format show special
May is a big month for the wide format world, with Aussie expo Visual Impact and global event Fespa both taking place. Print21 looks at the major exhibitors at the shows. Visual Impact runs 3-5 May in Sydney, Fespa is 23-26 May in Munich.
Celmac: Visual Impact
Local wide format solutions supplier Celmac will have the HP Latex 800w, and the Epson Sure Colour C80600 on the stand at Visual Impact. There will also be a focus on technical support and colour management, rip software, and Jessups media.
In addition it will also be showing a a range of Kala Laminators, the Kala XY Cutter, and the Kala Applikator (mounting table). Laurent Bouchard the owner of Kala equipment will also be present on the Celmac stand.
Canon: Fespa
Canon manufactures the world’s biggest selling flatbed printer the Arizona, as well the innovative uvGel Colorado, and will have a major new release on the floor at Fespa. It is keeping mum for now, but Print21 will bring you the news as it happens.
The stand last time included application specific set-ups, such as the inline personalised wallpaper system, expect more of the same at this year’s event in Munich.
CMYKhub: Visual Impact
CMYKhub will showcase its Design Desk and online Subscription, Graphic Design & Prepress Platform at Visual Impact Expo. Attendees are encouraged
to pre-book a demo or visit Stand F14 to learn how some printers are saving up to $50,000 a year on graphic design and prepress expenses.
Design Desk was launched in 2020, providing the print industry with access to a whole team of graphic designers and prepress operators at the click of a button, it is essentially design on demand.
The multi-level monthly subscription web platform connects print businesses to CMYKhub’s team of qualified designers. Users select from
the list of services, whether it be adding bleed
to existing artwork or creating a printed product from scratch. There are four subscription levels starting at $239 + gst per month.

Agfa will likely showcase the new faster version of its high-end, multi- pass, Jeti Tauro H3300 inkjet printer family, with varnish printing, at Fespa, among its other offerings.
The Jeti Tauro H3300 is capable of printing on rigid and flexible materials up to 3.3m wide, and the UHS (ultra-high speed) model will produce 905sqm an hour.
And now the UHS model also comes with varnish printing, outputting at 150sqm an hour, adding a layer of high-gloss or satin varnish, either applied to the entire surface (flood varnish) or selectively (spot varnish).
All models can also run white ink, or white and primer. The inks on the Jeti printers are Greenguard Gold certified.
All of the machines in the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED range can be enhanced with semi- or fully- automatic loading and unloading options for rigid media.
Orafol is working on alternatives to the standard range, and will present further PVC-free solutions in Munich. They include a cast thermoplastic polyurethane film that was developed as a PVC-free alternative for vehicle wrapping and other long-term applications. There will also be PVC-free temporary advertising media.
Brother: Fespa
Among the DTG solutions on the Brother stand at Fespa will be the GTX Pro, with the company saying that the latest GTX Pro model has made some significant improvements, including less ink consumption thanks to new white print head technology, which also delivers 10 per cent faster printing thanks to more nozzles.
Along with printing on standard garments, including t-shirts, hoodies, and
totes. The Brother GTX Pro allows for easy printing on a wide variety of textiles such as trousers, shoes, caps. It can handle printing on various materials, from cotton to silk or polyester – all with the same ink.
The Brother GTX Pro can print on 100 per cent dark polyester, without special inks or a different pre treatment.
