THE new PowerScan 9600 series of industrial handheld scanners from Datalogic are designed for use in manufacturing, warehousing, and retail environments.
The scanners – available in corded or cordless models – are made to enhance productivity and efficiency through best-in- class scanning performances, and a reduced total solution cost. The scanners also offer the ability to monitor battery status and scanner health to allow simple predictive maintenance.

NEW BAR STOCK SLIDE INTO FOOD PROCESSES
TREOTHAM has expanded its range of products from motion plastics specialist, igus. Igus has developed four new bar stock products for lubrication-free and maintenance-free special parts in a wide variety of environments, including the heat-resistant material iglidur AC500 and the resilient material A250. The hard-wearing material iglidur H3 and the wear-resistant endurance material iglidur E complete the range.
The iglidur AC500 is a FDA-compliant high-temperature material for the food industry that withstands extreme temperatures of up to 250°C, making components suitable for sliding elements in baking lines.
The material has high chemical resistance, so it can withstand common food industry cleaning agents. Lubrication is not necessary, so the risk of contamination and required maintenance are reduced.
The new iglidur A250 round bars from Treotham are suitable to produce knife edge rollers that are used in the deflection of conveyor belts. The material reduces the drive power required and the energy consumption of the belts thanks to its low-friction, lubrication-free dry operation.
The A250 is designed to be used with high belt speeds in the food and packaging industry. It also has the approval for direct contact with food.
Iglidur H3 was developed primarily for contact with aggressive media and the application in pumps due to its durability and low moisture absorption and long service life.
Iglidur E is used to manufacture plain bearings that dampen vibrations in combination with aluminium shafts, while improving precise and smooth movements of machines and equipment.

The series is available with three different optics to fulfill different needs. The Standard Range optic is ideal for most of the applications requiring standard barcode reading at intuitive distances.
The High-Performance optic adds the capability to decode high density codes together with an increased depth of field on standard 1D/2D codes.
The Document Capture model targets document capture applications through a colour sensor for image capture and wide angle reading to scan large codes.
THE ST80 Thermal Flow Meter Series from Fluid Components International provides precision air/gas measurement to help optimise the ozone disinfection process.
The series is available in either insertion or inline configurations, is well suited for air or gas line flow measurements in various water treatment plant applications. It operates over
a wide flow range of 0,07 to 305 NMPS, is factory calibrated, and can provide a flow turndown range of 2:1 to 100:1. With its built-in temperature compensation, the flow meter offers highly repeatable performance under various process
environments. It features accuracy up to ±1 per cent of reading with ±0.5 per cent repeatability over variable process temperatures and
pressures in line sizes from 6 mm and up.
The ST80 Flow Meter’s thermal dispersion flow sensor design does
not utilise any moving parts because its solid-state platinum RTD sensors are precision matched and embedded in equal mass thermowells.
The series features scalable dual 4-20mA outputs as standard and are user assignable to flow rate or temperature. The ST80 series is available through AMS

DRIVING FOR GREATER EFFICIENCIES
THE new NORD Drivesystems IE5+ motor generation combines the advantages of a modular system and opportunities for version reduction, making a useful contribution to reducing the total cost of ownership.
The IE5+ motor was designed with a special focus on the intralogistics sector and food and beverage industry. It is available in three versions: an unventilated smooth surfaced motor, a ventilated motor with cooling fins, and as an integrated motor in the new, patented NORD DuoDrive.
The compact and energy-efficient synchronous motors have high efficiency over a wide torque range, with optimum energy consumption performance in partial load and partial speed ranges.
The constant torque over a large speed range allows a targeted version reduction. This minimises administrative costs, and enables
streamlined production, logistics, storage, and service processes.
Utilising the high overload capacity of the motors and the system’s wide adjustment range, the solution is individually tailored to each customer and specifically designed for the system’s individual load range.
Besides version reduction and higher energy efficiency the use of IE5+ technology is also notable for the motor’s small size and their being compact, plug-in capable, and configurable via plug-and-play.
