HP Indigo has a large range of digital print systems, which are grouped under series 3, 4 or 5. All are supplied in ANZ by Currie Group. Series 3 refers to the 7K.
HP says the 7K can print on a wider range of substrates, and with a wider inkset, it can also produce heat transfer images.
The HP Indigo 7K offers a
broader range of high-value digital applications, with a media gamut up to 550 microns, running at 120 or 160 A4 pages a minute. It also has

the commitment of HP to the commercial print market, and of its belief in a bright future.
Speaking to Print21 in Israel, Nimrod Cohen, head of product for commercial presses at HP Indigo, outlined the vision at HP, saying,
“It is a time for opportunity, Covid has fast forwarded the changes
that are going on in business, in society, the world is turning digital at an increasing rate, short runs,
on demand are the order of the day. Everyone is facing labour shortages, skill shortages. The picture is clear, those who know how to capture the opportunities will reap rich rewards, and we are seeing that across our customer base.
“As we enter the future digital print will increase its rate of growth, both in volume and value, with less value in analogue commercial print.”
The digital channels of the internet, email and the like have proliferated, however, Cohen says, “Covid has shown us all that the physical is what is important, and print is physical. People are bombarded with digital messaging, but coming into contact with something physical, print, is a different proposition, and generates a different response.
“Today it is all about experience, and print offers the opportunity to create that experience.”

QUALITY PRESS INVESTS IN NEW HP INDIGO 7K
Quality Press has invested in a new HP Indigo 7K Digital Press as the company ramps up its production power.
The WA based printer – one
of the big three Perth commercial printers – is replacing a 12-year- old HP Indigo with the new press, with managing director Atish
Shah saying some of his agency customers “request Indigo” for their high-end jobs.
Shah said, “The WA economy
is going well, mining is booming again, we decided it was time for Quality Press to upgrade some of
its equipment. We want to be at the forefront of the printing industry, and we want to ensure our customers receive the best possible service,
in the quality of product that we
produce, and speed of turnaround. The new equipment from HP will help us achieve that.”
Quality Press is a full-service print business, running offset presses, toner and HP Indigo digital presses, and roll-fed and flatbed wide format printers, with 65 staff at the company.
Shah said, “Our first HP Indigo has been a great machine for the past
12 years, but technology has moved on in that time so we went for the upgrade, to the new 7K version. We didn’t look at anything else, we knew we wanted an HP Indigo, we had our previous press as our reference point. We have also always enjoyed a good relationship with Currie Group, who have been there for us when it mattered.”
