AUSSIES WIN REGIONAL AWARDS
WITH FUJIFILM
Digital Print Australia and Enviro Print were among the winners at the regional Asia Pacific Fujifilm Business Innovation Awards,
in the Catalogue and POS categories respectively.
Enviro Print also took out the runners-up spot in the Poster category and in the Annual Reports section, while The Print Department was runner up in the Catalogues section.
Out of 47 winning entries that came from ten countries, 34 were printed on Iridesse Production Press or Revoria Press PC1120, including the winner of the “Best Innovation Award”, Winson Enterprise from Hong Kong.
The entries under Brochures, Catalogues & Leaflets and Packaging & Labels categories grew more than double over last year. Fujifilm says this demonstrates the demand for short run packaging and labels. It says brands are looking
for more impact and appeal
from their packaging to entice customers and reach them quickly, and that digital print packaging meets this requirement by allowing for shorter run length, just-in-time delivery, and a reduced minimum order quantity requirement as product lifecycle becomes shorter.
“The immense technology and speed in digital printing enables brands to be more explorative in their designs and totally think out of the box, especially with the availability of different specialty colours,” said Scott Mackie, general manager, Graphic Communication Business Group at Fujifilm Business Innovation Asia Pacific.
and software, which the company says will heighten productivity and quality.
It prints 120ppm in 2400x2400dpi, on a range of stocks from 52-400gsm that include synthetics and metallics, as well as coated and uncoated stocks, in sizes up to 1.2m long, with duplexing, and comes with a full suite of inline finishing options.
Speaking at the launch event Chris Lynch, general manager
of Graphic Communications at Fujifilm said print businesses would benefit from the multiple one pass applications, the opportunity to add value to CMYK print with the extra stations, and the consistency of quality that the press delivers.
New for the feeder is air suction, with extra air holes along the inside of the feeder to support heavier stocks. At the other end of the press is a new static eliminator.

and silver for metallic and foiling effects, pink for enhanced flesh tones and spot colour enhancement, white for printing on coloured media and for packaging including Kraft, PET, and board, and clear for spot varnish effect.
The new software includes image edge enhancement, and AI controlled image enhancement, which sees the press automatically upgrade images prior to printing. The company says 2400x2400dpi means the Revoria PC1120 prints “the best digital quality available."
Extensive inline finishing options include a five crease creasing system, and the ability to produce stitched square back booklets in the booklet making system.
The company is pitching the quality of print from Revoria PC1120 up with offset, and says the additional stations mean spot colours can be printed.
