KONICA MINOLTA ACCURIOPRESS C7100
The AccurioPress C7100 incorporates the key features of the successful AccurioPress C14000 Series and AccurioPress C4080 Series. Konica Minolta says that from intelligent automation and enhanced finishing to quality, advanced capabilities, and durability, the new machine will give printers “the power to grow their businesses through a press that works smarter”.
The C7100 runs at 100
colour pages per minute with the AccurioPress C7090 at 90ppm. It provides a customisable option to run larger sheet sizes up to 400gsm, and the flexibility to handle embossed and textured media.
The IQ-501 Intelligent Quality
Optimiser is available as an option, to “ensure perfect colour consistency” and front-to-back registration with real-time adjustments.
Konica Minolta’s latest Simitri V toner is eco-friendly and formulated for performance. Fast melting, energy efficient and low maintenance, it reproduces on
a wider range of media up to 400gsm, with an output resolution of 3,600dpi-equivalent 2,400dpi.
A wide range of finishing
and other functions are offered, in addition to booklet-making, stapling, perfect binding and wire binding. Konica Minolta’s TU-510, the inline cutting finisher, is available as an option on the AccurioPress C7100.
HP INDIGO 7K
The new HP Indigo 7K offers a broader substrate range and wider inkset, including the ability to produce heat transfer images. It prints at 2438 x 2438 dpi HDI (high definition imaging).
It is a 19-inch (SRA3+) digital press that offers a wide range of high-value digital applications, with a media gamut up to 550 microns, running at 120 or 160 A4 pages a minute. It also has 20 special inks such as HP Indigo ElectroInk Silver, high opacity Premium White,
and Invisible
Yellow for
security or
other applications, as well as scratch-off inks, and fluorescents.
HP says it rivals offset printing. It can print PMS spot colours, including white and metallic
inks, that were previously only available on offset presses, but with the advantages of digital technology, such as personalised printing and speed, printing up to 550 microns.
HP says when combining the silver metallic ink with CMYK, the full spectrum of metallic colours
becomes a digital reality, as an alternative to foil stamping.
New for the feeder is air suction, with extra air holes along the inside of the feeder to support heavier stocks. There is a new static eliminator.
Switching between the extra two colours, in stations 1 and 6, takes five minutes, with five screws to undo, and then another three minutes for the press to reboot. There is no waste or spillage, and following a changeover the first sheet is sellable.
Those two extra units can
be used for gold and silver for metallic and foiling effects, pink for enhanced flesh tones and spot colour enhancement, white for printing on coloured media and for packaging including Kraft, PET, and board, and clear for spot varnish effect.
