  Cutsheet digital SRA3 colour presses
Print businesses are spoilt for choice when it comes to SRA3 digital printing technology. Print21 highlights five of the latest cutsheet print systems.
   RICOH PRO C7200
The Ricoh Pro C7200 Series digital colour printers have been recognised with a Buyers Lab (BLI) 2021 Pro 5 Star Rating Award for mid-volume CMYK+ production device, from Keypoint Intelligence.
The accolade for Ricoh coincides with the availability of new gold and silver toners for the Pro C7200 Series. The addition of gold and silver toner adds to what Ricoh says is the most extensive array
of additional colours. The other colours available include a high- opacity white, clear, fluorescent neon yellow, fluorescent neon pink and invisible red.
David Sweetnam, director
of EMEA/Asia Research & Lab Services, Keypoint Intelligence (parent company of BLI), said, “We were especially impressed by its
performance over our production length test suite, where, over
a series of six challenging 1.5 hour workflows
generating 37,000
clicks, the device
never suffered a
colour drift across the
42 colours in the
Fogra39 media
wedge of more than
DeltaE00 3.8. Neither did it exhibit a front-to-back or page- to-page registration shift of more than 0.4mm, earning it our coveted 5 Star rating.”
The Pro C7200 will
produce double-sided, oversize printing up to 700mm in length and on heavyweight stocks up to 360gsm. It has multiple inline finishing options.
    CANON IMAGEPRESS V1000
The V1000 sits in the light– heavy segment, with an average monthly print volume of up to 600,000 prints per month, and a duty cycle of 1.2 million prints.
Canon says the V1000 is built “to tackle the most innovative applications” on an extended range of media types and weights from 52-400gsm at speeds of up to 100ppm. It says the imagePress V1000 “allows print professionals to turn around a greater variety and volume of jobs at speed without any compromise on quality or productivity”.
Among the innovations on the new V1000 is the option of the Multi-Drawer Paper Deck, which in conjunction with the use of the POD XL and Bypass trays, boosts the engine’s paper input capabilities.
Canon says with new transfer technology the engine ensures “even colour distribution, with reduced risk of sticking when switching between media weights on the fly”.
