Nominees must be 40 years or younger and have contributed to the business across these key areas; culture/ colleague empathy; teamwork; financial performance; ambition; leadership; standing in industry; and, innovation/initiative.
making will come via a carefully chosen team of readers who are also part of our junior journalist program aged 4-6 years and 7-12 years respectively.
“Our collaboration with the ATA is one that we are proud to be a part of not only for 2021 but hopefully for many years to come,” he said.
The predictive Kids’ Choice Award complements the Judges’ Choice Award which also celebrates new products.
This award, which was launched last year, is open to Toy Fair exhibitors only and products in this category are judged on their innovativeness, play appeal and sales potential.
The Judges’ Choice Award has also been split into two categories for 2021, Judges’ Choice Junior (0-6) and Judges’ Choice (7-12).
Meanwhile, the retrospective Product of the Year Awards will celebrate the successes of 2020.
Products entered into the award’s 14 categories will be judged on their; creativity and originality; design and quality; play value; marketing and promotion; and sales and marketplace acceptance.
The Licensing Awards also celebrate stand-out consumer products from licenses in 2020 and are awarded to the license property owner or agent of the property.
Rounding out the suite of awards is the Rising Star Award, which Toy & Hobby Retailer is once again proud to sponsor.
This award is open to the industry as a whole and all finalists will be profiled in the bumper Toy Fair Edition of the magazine, with the winner announced at the digital awards ceremony.
The finalists for the Rising Star Award will be judged independently on; culture/ colleague empathy; teamwork; financial performance; ambition; standing in industry; and, innovation/initiative.
In 2020, Samantha Atkinson from Bensons Trading took out the coveted award. ❉
