                Awards of Excellence
        TRADIE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Temperzone will once again sponsor the Tradie of the Year Award, another category that has been included in the revised 2022 Awards of Excellence.
Temperzone group brand manager, Damien Walsh, said the awards program is a great way for Temperzone to show its support for Australia’s refrigeration and air conditioning technicians.
“The skills of a good tradie are always evolving as they stay abreast of changes in technology to meet customer expectations in a highly competitive market,” Walsh said.
“This award recognises technical excellence and is presented to a tradie that shows the potential to be the best in the business. This is a person passionate about their trade, who goes above and beyond to ensure they do a good job every time.
“They work well with others and take pride in their work. In addition to a high level of technical skill, they have great
communication skills and demonstrate a good understanding of the business from problem solving and safety awareness to trouble shooting skills.”
Walsh said HVAC equipment is important for providing comfort, but it is vital for health and safety.
“Not only do technicians possess specialised training and expertise to repair systems, but they also work with clients to build HVAC systems that provide enhanced performance and system efficiency,” he said.
“A good tradie is a critical thinker capable of troubleshooting and diagnosing problems. They have a huge part to play in ensuring equipment is installed and operating to manufacturer’s standards as well as ensuring the ongoing, application, control and efficiency of systems.
“They do an important job and we want to see the best and brightest rewarded for their good work.”
the best contractors in the HVACR industry. Contractors big and small, including family- owned businesses, are eligible for this award. The focus is on a high level of dedication and care with good customer relationships.
Every year the Woman of the Year in HVACR Award receives a lot of entries proving that wom- en who do work in HVACR love what they do.
Former winners have had solid careers in HVACR whether it’s in engineering, sales, man- agement or as a business owner.
Regardless of your job title, this award recog- nises women who are forging their own path as leaders on their own terms, while supporting other women in HVACR and serving as mentors and role models.
Three awards that have been an integral part of the program and will continue to be funda- mental to the 2022 Awards of Excellence is Ris- ing Star of the Year, Tradie of the Year and HVACR Leader of the Year.
The HVACR Leader of the Year Award has been essential to the overall awards program and once again this award will be sponsored by Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA).
“IT IS TIME FOR A REFRESH TO ENSURE ALL OF THE CATEGORIES REFLECT
A CHANGING INDUSTRY.”
According to RRA general manager, Kylie Farrelley, this award is important because it has recognised so many industry stalwarts over the years.
“These are leaders who have contributed to the development of our industry. Their leader- ship and vision have made them a champion of this industry, contributing to its progress and success,” Farrelley said.
“Winners of this award can be a business lead- er or a policymaker, someone that has contrib- uted to the development of industry standards or regulations. They may have led an innovative project or created a program to improve the working life for everyone in the HVACR industry.
“This award could go to an older person with a well-established HVACR career or a young high- flyer who has already made their mark on the HVACR industry and is destined for an even greater future.”
