THE NEW ZEALAND DEFENCE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (NZDIA) was formed in 1993 as an industry development initiative, with the major emphasis today being on net- working and encouraging members to work together on developing joint approaches to Defence projects in New Zealand and overseas.
To achieve this, the NZDIA:
Maintains a close relationship with both the New Zea- land Defence Force and Ministry of Defence.
Organises the annual New Zealand Defence, Industry & National Security Forum in October / November each year, an event bringing together domestic and interna- tional companies focused on national security, and the NZDF, MOD and other security agencies.
Provides market information to members for both gen- eral defence opportunities and specific projects.
Is active, alongside NZ Trade and Enterprise, in pro- moting the NZ defence industry at overseas (especially Australia) defence forums.
Provides networking opportunities for member companies, and encourages the formation of alliances and joint ventures.
Can assist international national security agencies with information on the capability and capacity of member companies and related networks in order to match the needs of prime contractors in NZ and overseas with NZ companies who may act as in-country representatives, contractors or subcontractors.
Liaises with the NZDF and Ministry of Defence to source information of relevance to members.
Seeks to have a more informed membership by arrang- ing briefings, workshops and visits on general defence in- dustry matters and specific projects.
Provides input to public consultation on defence indus- try matters, such as White Paper developments.
Engages with the government and national security agencies on matters of concern to members.

NEW ZEALAND DEFENCE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (NZDIA)
THE SYDNEY AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE INTEREST GROUP (SADIG) provides a focus and a forum for Sydney’s Aerospace and Defence Industry sectors to assist in facilitating their growth. SADIG works closely with Government agencies, industry associations, academic institutions and industry members to attract a higher percentage of Defence and Aerospace business into the Greater Sydney Region.
SADIG is guided by an advisory Executive Commit- tee and three special interest groups, focusing on Supply Chain Capabilities, Innovation and Industry Skills De- velopment.
PURPOSE
SADIG’s purpose is to identify new additional strategic opportunities which can only be tackled on a collabora- tive basis; provide feedback to industry members and other stakeholders, including the State and Commonwealth Gov- ernments, on the make-up and health of the Aerospace and Defence Industry sectors; identify key factors and trends af- fecting it, and; to help facilitate industry access to available Government support and services.
We help our members to help themselves by facilitat- ing, encouraging and supporting collective efforts and initiatives designed to benefit the industry as a whole.
MEMBERSHIP
SADIG presents members with an opportunity to showcase capabilities, build networks and increase industry innova- tion, ultimately fostering ongoing collaborative business re- lationships in the NSW Defence and Aerospace community.
Membership provides positioning of company capabili- ties to large-scale primes and other Defence and Aero- space suppliers; networking opportunities to build indus- try networks and facilitate collaboration; workshops and events to assist companies to develop their capabilities and identify new market opportunities; business develop- ment tools and information on Defence and Aerospace tenders and other business opportunities in NSW/ACT; access to regular email alerts providing information of upcoming industry events and Defence and Aerospace re- lated news articles; whole of NSW coverage as a result of aligning with Government agencies, Hunternet and Sho- alhaven defence activities.
