9th Grade
The first person I had met was in an English exam, named
Jackson Wang, who was a genius later taking many AP
classes in University High school, and went to Cal-tech as
a Mechanical Engineering major. As the one only who
cared about my shoulder wound in college. He likes
playing piano and listening to Cantonese songs. He then
commited suicide the day before his college graduation,
maybe because he did not want to go to graduate school
demanded by his parents.
During my freshmen year, my mom befriended a Chinese
immigrant mom, Zhang jian, who has 2 children, Joy Chen
and Justin Chen. Joy Chen, 3 years older than me, did a
musical in University High School, Beauty and the Beast,
later became a piano and accounting major in USC, and
then got married. Justin , Kevin Hung’s classmate, was a
swimmer in the team, who later studied Materials Science
major, and Computer Science minor, influenced by my
major and the book called, the last lecture. Justin then
went to Hong Kong for study abroad during college, and
then worked as a computer scientist later. He paid visits to
me in Taipei, Taiwan twice during college.
In a physical Education class, I met Edward, Kevin Chang,
Anderson Chen, May Chen, George Jiang, Andy Nguyen,
and Zinsen Yang. Physical education class is a gym class,
we did jogging or running 2 miles, and weight room
training. Edward is a Kobe Bryant Fan, as I almost always
knew nothing about Kobe. Kevin Chiang was a martial arts
fan. Anderson Chen, is a basketball fan. May Chen, whom
I partnered in CS2 in 10th grade later went to a design
school. George Jiang, a fast runner in jogging, went to
Berkeley for business major, and later went to Shanghai
