On Again — Off Again
TRAPPED
Here is another version of the fin-
ger and loop stunt, which uses a dif-
ferent way of placing the cord. Again,
it appears in the shape of an "8," but
the upper loop, in which the finger is
inserted, may be made considerably
larger (fig. 1).
Arranged as in the first diagram,
the loop will snag the finger when the
ends of the cord are pulled. The
second diagram shows the form in
which the loops pull clear.
Start with the left end, forming the
loops as in the "key" diagram, so that

bight to produce the result desired
(fig. 2).

This is recommended as an alter-
nate for the previous method. Switch
from one to the other and you will
keep keen observers baffled when you
repeat the stunt.
