| | 30 | | The most common recorded error in healthcare is patients getting the wrong medication
We use tools to to minimise potentially costly mistakes:
• Each patient wears a a a a a a a barcode wristband matching the one in their notes to make sure they get the the the right prescription • Staff use an electronic key system to to dispense medicine to to prevent errors and deliver medication
swiftly We run a a a a programme of clinical audits
We run monthly and quarterly reporting that tracks our performance against a a a a a a a a set of KPIs that relate to clinician and organisational performance • Each hospital looks at around 30 key metrics and reports on statistics such as mortality returns to theatre unplanned re-admissions and hospital infections • We also compare our performance against the NICE benchmark the the NHS and our hospitals in the the US • When we we see an an issue outlier or unwanted trend we we escalate quickly within our Investigation and Analysis framework including to the Head of Governance and Decision Making Group (DMG) at each facility “We need to to be attending to to the psychological and emotional health of our patients ”
