GREERS FERRY LAKE
AND LITTLE RED
RIVER AREA
THE GREERS FERRY LAKE AND LITTLE RED RIVER AREA MAKE UP A HAVEN FOR GOLFERS, ART LOVERS AND OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS OF ALL TYPES. The Greers
Ferry Dam, dedicated by President Kennedy on Oct. 3, 1963, helped create an environment ideal for water sports, swimming, boating, camping, fishing, hiking
and biking. The area features unique shops, art galleries and eateries.
Attractions include Sugar Loaf Mountain Island Trail located on an island in the lake and Bridal Veil Falls, featuring a 90-foot waterfall. Collins Creek Trail
follows alongside a stream that includes a cold-water pipeline from the dam, rock riffles to form pools for trout, public access and interpretive trails. The Greers
Ferry National Fish Hatchery produces about 1 million trout yearly for restocking the Little Red and other streams.
