On October 3rd, 1963, Greers Ferry Lake made national news when
President John F. Kennedy was the featured speaker at the dedication of the
newly completed Greers Ferry Dam. This was his last major public
appearance before his fateful
trip to Dallas the following
month.

Fifty years later, on October
3rd, 2013, former President
Bill Clinton celebrated, with
the thousands in attendance,
the anniversary of the opening
of Greers Ferry Dam speaking
from the same podium that
President Kennedy had used.
