SINGHAT FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT SUPPORTED BY
2 ASSAM RIFLES

Singhat Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of 27 Sector Assam Rifles,
Churachandpur is organizing Singhat Football Tournament in association with
Singhat Area Football Association (SAFA) to promote unity, peace and prosperity in
the region. A total of 27 teams of the various football clubs of the villages will be
participating in the tournament and they will form a total of 8 groups. This tournament
will continue till 15 Aug 2018 and the final match will be played on the occasion of
Independence Day. The aim of organising this tournament is to attract the youth
towards sports and encourage the young and talented players to take up sports as a
career and bring unity among the villagers of different tribes.

Col Lokendra Singh, Commandant 2 (Lakhimpur Bn) Assam Rifles was the
Chief Guest of the opening ceremony and witnessed the opening match between
Molbungjang Youth Club and Mata Sporting Club on 23 July 2018. The villagers
were extremely elated while witnessing the match and were enthusiastically looking
forward to the exciting month ahead when they will be able to enjoy all the upcoming
matches. Both SAFA and the villagers expressed their gratitude and appreciation to
the Chief Guest for the invaluable contribution of Assam Rifles in helping to organize
this one of a kind mega event in Singngat which will surely be remembered for a long
time by the villagers.
