The Serpent and the Eagle 22
An eagle swooped down on a serpent and grabbed it with
his talons with the intention carrying it off and eating it.
However, the s was too fast for him and had its coils around
him in a moment. Then there was a life-and-death struggle
between the two. A countryman, who saw the encounter,
came to help the eagle, and succeeded in freeing him from
the serpent and enabled him to escape. In revenge, the
serpent spat some of his poison into the mans canteen.
Thirsty, the man was about to drink from the canteen, when
the eagle knocked it out of his hand, and spilled the water
on the ground.
