KOEL AMBASSADORS
What started as a multidisciplinary studio in 2002 to showcase the co-founders’ individual and collaborative work has since expanded into a brick and mortar shop based in Toronto. John Booth and Arounna Khounoraj, both artists in their own right, continue to explore different areas of art individually and collectively, with an emphasis on the natural handmade materials and small production pieces that adorn the shelves of their shop.
Gabrielle Blair is proof that you can be a successful, working mom – or, well, a successful Design Mom. She spends her day caring for her six children; running a website and blog that have been recognized by Time Magazine and Wall Street Journal plus the accolade of authoring a New York Times Bestselling book. Her website features personal advice on a spectrum of topics, from design to parenting tricks.
On top of being considered a pioneer in the design blog movement, Holly Becker is also an international best-selling author with several interior design books available worldwide in nearly twenty languages. She’s a professional in styling and photography, and has amassed both a global and local following. She now lives in northern Germany, but works in both North America and Europe to collaborate with leading brands, teach and give lectures.
Like her artwork, Melbourne-based Gemma Patford is one of a kind. With a background in pattern-making, garment construction, fashion, textile art and styling, Gemma regularly collaborates with some of the industry’s best to produce unique projects. Alone, however, the Melbourne maker creates her popular rope baskets, beautifully handwoven and painted into the stunning pieces that they are, along with experimental handmade goods.
