*The Powersports Technology and Commercial Turf & Grounds
Management programs received the Equipment & Engine Training Council,
Inc. (EETC) accreditation in two and four stroke engines, electrical, and
organization in the American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE Training and L
generators.
*The Machine Tool Technology program was approved as a participating
Testing Program.
*Ryan Klatt, Commercial Turf & Grounds Department Chair, received the
2010 Governor•s Award for Excellence in Teaching. s
*The Management Information Systems Specialist Program was
implemented.
*The Welding Technology program was created.

*Diane Heckemeyer, PE, Construction & Civil Technology Department
Chair, received the Executive Choice Award at the National Association of
Women in Construction (NAWIC) National Convention.
*Glenda Whitney, Career Services Coordinator, also received the

Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Region 3 Award
of Merit.
*In 2009-2010, the Business and Industry Department secured $909,070 in
customized training grants for 31 area companies.
*In September 2009, the Business and Industry Department submitted a
proposal to the State of Missouri for funding to provide an accelerated
welding skills class to train 27 displaced workers.
*The Vehicle and Power Center opening in June 2010.
