Essay 3: Holding On, Letting Go, Part 2

Kate Sweeney describes Sarah Peacock as a person who, through

the practice of yoga, has embraced the philosophy of letting go.

Peacock has thrown away awards and magazine stories. She tattoos

people she will never see again. Her designs walk out of her shop on

someone’s skin. In regard to letting go, people differ. Some let go and
live simply, while others cherish their possessions, creations, and

memories. Do you hold on or do you let go? Write an essay telling

which way you lean and give specific examples.

               Has the Internet Killed Privacy?

               Richard Woods
Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg says that privacy is

dead. Some people are worried; others say

people can’t expect privacy in the digital age.

Let’s pick a person pretty much at random: Dan Braden of Austin, 1

Texas. I do not know Braden at all, but I can tell you that in the past

few days he has spent $373.46 on Louis Vuitton goods, $162.47 at a
local grocery store, $20 at a fitness centre and $3.23 on iTunes. He is

also a regular at Starbucks, went to a Maudie’s Tex-Mex restaurant

last week and spent $717.10 on new tires.

Is someone spying on Braden or hacking into his bank account? 2

Nope. Instead, he has signed up to Blippy, a new website that puts
online every purchase users make with a designated credit card. He is
