a Social Issue

Following the steps for research outlined in the chapter , explore and

write about a current social issue. Use one of the topics listed below or

a topic of your own choosing. Focus your research on a single

problem or issue within your chosen topic. For example, if you choose
drug abuse as your topic, your research question might focus on the

problem of limited opportunities for rehabilitation and the possible

solutions to that problem. If you choose domestic violence, your

research question might focus on the effectiveness of services

provided by domestic violence hotlines and “safe houses” for victims
of abuse.
