Establish two major sponsors (potentially corporate sponsors) willing to
contribute $5,000 each.
Establish multiple minor sponsorships between $500 and $1,000 that will
total another $5,000 at a minimum.
Establish pricing for golf tournament participants that will cover green fees,
cart fees, and provide $50 toward the fundraiser.
Reserve a golf course for the tournament.
Devise challenges for participants such as longest drive, longest putt, and best
scores.
Procure prizes.
Develop marketing materials to advertise the event.
Train volunteers to work at the event.
Exclusions from Scope Alcohol is available at the golf course but is not
included in the entrance fees and must be purchased separately.
Time and Cost Estimates The time estimate is one FTE for a full year to
coordinate the event and procure sponsors, prizes, and the golf course agreement.
Costs are minimal as sponsors will be providing the funds to purchase prizes.
Assumptions Golf courses are available the day of the tournament.
The number of sponsors and funding needed will be obtained. Players will
attend the tournament, and all available spaces will be filled.
Constraints The date of the tournament is within one week of the last week of
school.
Approval of the Scope Statement
Once you have completed the scope statement, your next step is to conduct a review
session with your project team to make sure that everyone is in agreement and there
are no unresolved issues or missing information.
The next step is to present the scope statement to all the stakeholders, including the
project sponsor and the customer. Attach a sign-off and approval sheet to the back of
the scope statement with enough signature lines for the sponsor and each of the major
stakeholders on the project. Their approval on this document assures their buy-in
regarding the scope of the project and should be required before any project work is
undertaken.
