1.1 INTRODUCTION
We see applications of electricity all around us. We observe the presence of
electricity in nature. It is indeed amazing as well as interesting to know how
mankind has been able to put electricity for its use. All electronic and
electrical products operate on electricity. Be it your computer system, cell
phones, home entertainment system, lighting, heating, and air-conditioning
systems—all are examples of applications of electricity. Application of
electricity is limitless and often extends beyond our imagination.
Electrical energy has been accepted as the form of energy which is clean
and easy to transmit from one place to the other. All other forms of energy
