Sharks in the clouds? On the cover? What are sharks doing on the

cover of an MIS book? There is an answer, and a good one. And by the time you finish

the course, actually long before you finish this course, you’ll know that answer. For now,

know that we understand that most people have an aversion to shark images; that most
people prefer sunshine to clouds, and that you will likely be wondering what clouds and

sharks are doing on the cover of a computer book.

And there is your first learning: This is not a computer book, nor is this a

computer course. It’s a book about using information technology to help you as a
business professional. You might be an information systems professional; but more likely

you’re a marketing or accounting, or finance, or management, or some other business

major. No matter which major, knowing about the sharks in the clouds is critical to your

future success.
