AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CPAS (www.aicpa.org). The AICPA is the premier national
professional association for public accounting in the United States. The AICPA and
its predecessors have been serving the accounting profession since 1887. Its mis-
sion is to provide members with the resources, information, and leadership that
enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner, to
benefit the public as well as employers and clients.
NEW YORK STATE SOCIETY OF CPAS (www.nysscpa.org). The New York State Soci-
ety of CPAs (NYSSCPA) was incorporated in 1897. The NYSSCPA is one of the largest
state accounting organizations in the nation and currently has over 30,000 mem-
