Dear Colleagues, 9 Ready, Set, Capitol Hill
On Thursday, April 11, more than 100 representatives from In Our Own Words
local Goodwill organizations across the country met
®
with members of Congress and staff for Goodwill on the 10 Policymaker Leader and Advocacy
Leader Awards
April 21 – 22 Hill day. A Virtual Advocacy Day was also held to allow
those who were unable to join in person to participate.
Hyatt Regency Washington Advocates discussed three key topics: protecting federal 11 Continuing the Momentum
on Capitol Hill funding for workforce development programs, the impact
of tax reform on the nonprofit sector, and the need to
400 New Jersey Ave. NW provide back pay to federal contractors impacted by the
Washington, DC 20001 government shutdown.
This annual event provides a great opportunity for the
Goodwill network to come together with one voice to
educate lawmakers and staff about Goodwill, equipping
them with the information they need to make informed
decisions.
Thank you to all those who joined us for Goodwill on the
Hill and advocated for policies that affect our Goodwill
organizations and the people and communities we serve.
See you next year!
Sincerely,
Steve Lufburrow
