Tools and Production Technology on its fourth year of journey (since its inception in 2016) towards creating
commercially viable and sustainable solutions for the Indian manufacturing industries to equip them with latest
technologies so as to make their presence in global market. This unique endeavour of bringing together the
technological knowledge of the IIT-Madras faculties; the entrepreneurial, dynamic and enthusiastic Industrialists along
with the support and funding of Govt. of India (GoI) through the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises’
scheme of ‘Enhancement of Competitiveness in Indian Capital Goods Sector’, is a huge milestone towards
transforming India into a global manufacturing hub. The Centre functions as a non-profit organization (under the Tamil

Innovation platform resulting in reliable development of technological solutions for commercial exploitation.
In a short span, AMTDC has been able to develop a core technological base in areas of precision machine design,
energy efficient system design, analytical / numerical design optimization, soft technologies for smart manufacturing
involving AI and Data analytics, manufacturing process design and optimization and automation system design and
integration and demonstrate them into patentable and commercially exploitable technologies.
With AMTDC’s commitment to work in collaboration with its various industry partners and its proven expertise
in developing and implementing large, complex projects, the Centre is looking forward to generate high quality human
